Miss Holliday’s Classroom Technology Plan
In my classroom, we know that technology is a great thing when used correctly! It can help us learn so much more about our world through research, and we are so blessed that we have the opportunity to integrate technology into our curriculum. However, technology can be dangerous, so we want to take measures so that we do not wind up in trouble with our devices. In order to make sure that my students are using technology safely and properly, I have a set of rules that, if followed, will create an incredible classroom environment when it comes to our technology. If these rules are not followed, there will be consequences, as we take our technology privileges very seriously. These rules will be posted in the classroom so that students are constantly aware of what is expected of them.
Rules:
1. Treat technology with respect and handle devices with great care.
2. Always keep track of where your devices are.
3. Never go to a website or app that has not been approved by a teacher.
4. If something pops up on your device that should not be there, raise your hand and report it to your teacher without showing it to a classmate.
5. Stay on task- if you have been given an assignment on your device, do not open other apps or websites.
6. If you encounter a button or an option you do not know what to do with, do not press it! Take the device to your teacher for guidance.
7. When in doubt, ask your teacher.
Consequences for Broken Rules:
If these rules are not followed, technology privileges will be removed from the student. If the offense involves student devices, the device will be confiscated until I feel that the student has earned those privileges back.
